A tough opening game for the U16s on Saturday against a very strong Waterpark Red side.
The lads showed great grit and determination, with a rock-solid scrum and strong lineout providing plenty of positives.
After going 0–12 down, Clonmel hit back getting on the scoreboard with a well worked attacked by Emre Cicek, who recently joining us on loan from Fethard. Waterpark responded, but Jack Dillon produced a brilliant individual effort to score Clonmel’s second try.
Plenty of hope going into second half 12-22
However, the efforts of the first half, and the lack of subs, meant tired players were unable to score again.
The lads battled hard, but tired legs eventually took their toll. Final score 12–43.
Lots of positives to take and plenty to build on. We look forward to the next game against Waterford City!
