Club History

Clonmel Rugby Club was founded in 1882.

Having first played in the Munster Senior Cup in 1900, Clonmel RFC gained promotion to the All-Ireland League in 2019.

The Club fields Mens’ XV’s, Womens’ XV’s and a full range of under-age teams on a weekly basis – the vibrant under-age section has been the production line for the Club, providing all the players who represented us over the recent very successful seasons when the Club won four Munster Junior League titles and also claimed the Munster Junior Cup.  Such achievements have been recognised when the Club were awarded the “Munster Club of the Year” on three occasions in recent years.

Notable players during these past few years have included Irish International Niamh Briggs, Dave Foley, Eoghan Grace, Sean Reidy and of course Rory Moroney from the 1980’s.
