Clonmel RFC Business Lunch Fundraiser 2025 Donation 

• It has only been six weeks since Clonmel RFC held The 2025 Annual Business Lunch fundraiser event in the Talbot Hotel Clonmel on Friday 29th of August, with a lot of planning this was another very successful event for the club and was sold out to 312 guests for weeks in advance. The event was thoroughly enjoyed by all attending that were fortunate to get tickets to this two part event Sport and Business event. 

• For the Sport it was inspiring to hear our Guest of Honour Ronan O’Gara tell his fascinating global rugby career stories on/off the field both as a player and coach to date along with his fellow Munster Rugby and Irish International Denis Leamy to Clonmel’s very own international sports broadcaster Shane O’Donoghue. After the interval it was into the Business to hear the phenomenal story of the Clonmel Pharmaceutical firm Shorla Oncology deliver to all by Orlaith Ryan Co-Founder & Chief Technical Officer from their start up in 2018 of their journey to present day and also winning the prestigious EY Entrepreneur of the Year Ireland 2024 to another Clonmel resident Tom Brennan of the Pharmaceutical Entrepreneurial world.

• During the planning of the Business Lunch the club Finance and Development Sub Committee Team pledged to choose a local volunteer organisation with a fantastic cause that supports the Clonmel community. There were so many fantastic organisations in the mix and the teams unanimous vote was the South Tipperary Hospice Movement being the chosen charity. The unsung excellence work this organisation does year in and year out since their foundation in 1990 is just exceptional for the local Clonmel and surrounding community.

• On Saturday 11th of October just before the Pre Match Lunch and kick off of our 1st XV’s Energia All Ireland League Round 03 fixture v Malahide RFC at home in Ard Gaoithe we were delighted to formally honour this and present the donation sum of €1,000 to our guests Liz Binchy (Chairperson) and Schira Lane (Secretary) representing the Clonmel Hospice Support Group accepting on behalf of the South Tipperary Hospice Movement.
