Clonmel wrapped up their league campaign with an impressive display against Waterford City on a bright morning in Ard Gaoithe. With ideal conditions for running rugby, both sides opened with tight, physical exchanges, but it was Clonmel who seized control as the half wore on.
Crisp handling and excellent support play unlocked the Waterford defence, leading to a series of well-constructed team tries. Once in front, Clonmel showed no signs of easing off, maintaining relentless pressure throughout all three halves and controlling territory and possession.
Waterford City, to their credit, battled gamely to the final whistle and contributed to a highly entertaining contest.
Clonmel’s focus now shifts to the knockout stages. Thanks to all parents for their ongoing support, and to Kevin Cronin for presenting the pitch in top condition. Training continues Tuesday and Thursday at 6.15 pm.
