Clonmel travelled to Dungarvan for the last group game of the 2025/2026 League. The conditions proved difficult with a mix of rain, sunshine and thunder during the game which made for hard going. Both teams probed each other and despite having more than their fair share of possession clonmel could not secure the opening score in the first half having being held up over the line on more than one occasion. Dungarvan proved efficient inside the 22 and finally broke the lines to gain the all important first score. Half time saw the narrowest of margins 5 . 0 to Dungarvan. Clonmel upped the pressure in the second half and had several chances denied by good dungarvan defense. in turn dungarvan having won a penalty and line out crossed for a second try but failed to convert. Clonmel would not go down without a fight and with the final play of the game a fantastic steal at the ruck was picked up by Luke mcgahern who made the most of the line break and finished in the corner. Final Score 10 - 5 to Dungarvan. Many thanks for Dungarvans hospitality and a really good game in difficult conditions.
