The U16’s travelled to Carrick On Suir today for a 12.30 kickoff. This highly contested challange game was played with great energy and was hard but fair from both sides. The weather was swirly at best and between the rain and wind it kept everyone on their toes. Clonmel opened the scoring within 5 minutes and kept carrick on the back foot for most of the first half.
Carrick On suir however carried through the pack to great affect and the powerful contacts forced clonmel to defend narrowly on a few occasions keeping Carrick in the game after moving fast ball wide.
Clonmel put some great training ground moves together in the second half which coupled with strong carries from backs and forwards created gaps which the team needed no excuse to exploit. A good game to watch and a great result for the team.
FT: Clonmel 39 - 24 Carrick
Many thanks to Carrick On Suir for hosting and the their post match hospitality.
